What it is for

Some forms are open to the public, such as an enquiry or an open-day booking. A person opens the address the school gave them and fills it in. There is no sign-in. The form sits in the portal frame, so it looks like the rest of the school's pages.

Filling one in

  1. Open the form's address. Under the heading "How your answers are kept", read who is asking and why.
  2. Answer the questions. A question with a star (*) needs an answer. You can leave the others empty.
  3. Press "Send".

The notice says the school is asking for this and keeps your answers, and that the school decides what the form asks and what it does with your answers. It links to "Privacy Policy for students" and to "Privacy Policy" so you can read how information is handled before you send.

After sending you see "Received" and "Your reference is" followed by a reference. Keep it if you need to ask the school about your form. Each send has a unique key, so pressing "Send" twice records the form once.

Anonymous forms

A school can make a form anonymous. It says so at the top: "This form is anonymous: nothing is kept about who filled it in, apart from what you type." The confirmation then adds that the school did not keep anything about who filled it in.

What staff see

A submission goes to the school, which receives your answers against the reference you were given. Staff then work it through the school's forms and tasks.

  • A public form

    /forms/[key]

The form itself, with its privacy notice and the Send button.

  • Privacy Policy

    /privacy

The school's policy, linked from the form.

  • Privacy Policy for students

    /privacy-students

    The policy written for students.

Training notes

  • Open each public form as a visitor before you share its address.
  • Tell families to keep the reference from the confirmation.
  • Say plainly that an anonymous form cannot be answered individually.
